Recently, I visited a property in Greater Corpus Christi where the customer had started seeing roaches around the kitchen and bathroom.
At first, they only saw one or two. But after noticing them near the sink, cabinets and drain areas, they became worried there might be more hiding somewhere they could not see.
That is a very common situation. With roaches, the visible activity is often only part of the issue.

When I inspected the property, the issue was not just the roaches the customer had seen.
The real concern was the conditions that were helping roaches stay active:
moisture around sinks and drains
food crumbs and grease in kitchen areas
small gaps around cabinets and baseboards
trash and food storage areas
hidden spaces behind appliances
warm, dark areas where roaches could hide
In coastal properties around Greater Corpus Christi, roaches can stay active when they have access to food, water and shelter.

I inspected the kitchen, bathroom, sink areas, drain spaces, cabinets, appliances and baseboards to find where roaches were most active.
Then I explained to the customer where the pressure seemed to be coming from and why roaches may have been returning.
After that, I completed the recommended service in the key activity areas and gave the customer practical steps to support the treatment after the visit.
The customer felt better because they finally had a clear explanation of what was happening.
Instead of just seeing roaches and guessing, they understood the areas that needed attention and what conditions were making the problem worse.
The treatment helped address the active areas, and the prevention steps gave them a better plan moving forward.

Here are the roach prevention tips I shared with the customer:
keep food sealed
wipe down crumbs and grease
empty trash regularly
avoid leaving pet food out overnight
reduce clutter under sinks and cabinets
keep sink and drain areas clean
fix leaks when possible
seal small gaps where roaches may hide or enter
Roaches need food, water and hiding spaces. Reducing those three things can make a big difference.

One thing I always remind customers is that seeing one roach does not always mean there is only one roach.
Roaches are good at hiding in tight, dark and damp spaces. By the time they are visible in kitchens or bathrooms, there may already be hidden activity nearby.
That is why a proper inspection matters. It helps us treat the right areas instead of only reacting to what is visible.

If roaches are showing up in your kitchen, bathroom, apartment or business, do not feel embarrassed. It can happen even in clean properties when the right conditions are present.
The important thing is to act early, find the source and reduce the conditions that help them return.
If you are dealing with roaches in Greater Corpus Christi, Total Pro Pest Control is here to help.
